Fall TV schedule grid

May 19th, 2007 by screenwriterguy

After a week of all the big announcements from television networks about next fall’s TV schedule, I thought it might be nice to consolidate all of the schedules, grid-style. Those of us planning our next TV spec script can use this to help figure out which show would be a good choice. (A tip from soyouwanna.com suggests picking a show that’s been on from 3-5 years, so I’ve included years on air below.)

Tuesday night looks like an absolute wash. Did any of the networks try for that night?

  2. screenwriterguy commented:

If I had to guess, I’d say that’s Idol’s fault. FOX has all but admitted to giving up on the fall, willing to let baseball drive their ratings in recent years, then jumping in with their big boy on Tuesday, Wednesday (and sometimes Thursday) nights. The other networks are planning their entire year, and anything they put on Tuesday night automatically gets squished come January.

Personally, I wish at least one network would at least TRY to program against Idol. Then again, look at what happened to poor Veronica Mars. (Probably.)
