I'm in an ongoing acting workshop and it's true that I always heard to take a monologue from a play that we read completely. Well so far I didn't find yet a monologue that I would like to play. Due to my French accent I still very nervous to audition with a monologue. I've been casted twice as an FBI Agent and yesterday as a Russian spy! So a friend of mine told me what don't you try to find a monologue for " Spy" and I found "Dear Steve" so I'm thrilled, it's so funny and I won't have any problem to deliver it with my accent! I'm in the 40" do you also have a monologue for Mother and Teen? Keep writing we all need fresh monologues and we will be so happy to deliver them at the best! I was looking for some good monologues for my high school daughter (16 y. old). She absolutely LIVES for theatre/drama/comedy and has designs on making it her lifelong career (via New York hopefully!). I've been asked, along with 7 other actors, to join the improv troupe on a probationary status b/c we didn't have a chance to work with the existing troupe during auditions and they want time with us before finalizing their troupe, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will become a permanent position after spending some rehearsal time with them. Anyway, just wanted to thank you for this great piece---it's fresh, it's quirky, and if you're not afraid to attempt the Russian accent--which is brilliantly written by the way, then I think your auditors will be very impressed.
